CMIV is awarded the Athena Prize 2009 – September 18, 2009

Anders Persson and Anders Ynnerman at The Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization (CMIV) were awarded with the Athena Prize for their development of new advanced methods regarding visualization and medical imaging. The main project concerns virtual autopsy where the SyntheticMR software plays a major role for the MRI part. The Athena Prize is founded by the Swedish Delegation of cooperation within clinical research. The purpose of the prize is to give attention to prominent work within clinical research in Sweden.

SyMRI Suite, Release 1 has been CE-certified by Intertek Semko AB. The certification allows SyntheticMR to put the software package for sale on the European market.

Dr Marcel Warntjes awarded 400 000 SEK – April 16, 2009

Post-Mortem imaging using Synthetic MRI technology   2009-02-16

The SyntheticMR technology applied to post-mortem examinations is broadcasted in SVT ‘Vetenskapsvärld’. Dr. Anders Persson shows the breakthrough technology on CT and MRI for examination of corpses. The MRI part is based on SyMRI Contrast Studio and SyMRI Brain Studio where optimal contrast can always be found without the need to rescan. Especially with corpses this is important since it may be cooled and the standard clinical routine may not be optimal.
