SyntheticMR launches SyMRI Suite, Release Candidate 1 – December 12, 2008
At the RSNA in Chicago the Release Candidate 1 of SyMRI Suite was launched. The Suite contains both Brain Studio and Cardiac Studio and even contains some feature that may be applied to synthetic knee imaging. There was an overwhelming attention to the new software that was presented in the Sectra booth in the north building of McCormick place. ‘It is a great experience’ comments Marcel Warntjes, CEO for SyntheticMR, ‘we reinforce contacts with our Scandinavian customers and many other potential customers have a look and respond very positively.’ ‘Some say it is the greatest thing they have seen at the RSNA’, adds Erika Peterson, clinical application specialist of SyntheticMR, ‘I have seen people coming back several times for another look. It is very promising.’
The Release Candidate 1 will be spread among the existing sites and a small number of new sites for clinical validation. Validation will be done mostly on the brain, concerning diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, dementia and cancer. Feedback on the software will be implemented in the actual Release 1 which is expected to be launched at ECR in Vienna on Mars 6, 2009
Swedish television at CMIV - November 26, 2008
The ‘Vetenskapsmagasinet’ of the Swedish television SVT filmed an episode of their popular-scientific program at the Center of Medical Science and Visualization (CMIV). Besides showing the excellent research on dual-source CT, part of the program will be about the application of Synthetic MRI at Linköping Hopital. This includes post-mortem examinations on people who died of heart attack as well as an item on the automatic brain segmentation of patients diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. The program is planned to be broadcasted in early summer 2009.
SyntheticMR at RSNA 2008 – Novmber 18, 2008
This year we will be able to show our latest developments in automatic brain segmentation based on a single 5 minutes scan’ comments Dr Marcel Warntjes, CEO . ‘It is another major step on our road to promote Synthetic MRI as a mature approach. We have had very positive responses from the first installations. At the RSNA we hope to broaden the public awareness for our products together with Sectra. Currently the main focus is to validate the technique further and get all regulatory requirements on place with the help of our beta sites. After this a much larger group of hospitals can test synthetic MRI themselves.’
At RSNA 2008 we welcome you to discover our approach to magnetic resonance imaging. You will find SyntheticMR AB in booth 9124 together with Sectra Imtec AB.

The Swedish Knowledge Foundation features movie displaying Synthetic MRI – November 12, 2008
The Swedish Knowledge foundation (KK-stiftelsen) features movie about CMIV (Center for Medical Imaging Science and Visualization) that shows virtual autopsies using CT and Synthetic MRI. Conventional MRI may not be optimal due to the low temperature of the body, using synthetic MRI the optimal contrast in the images can always be established after the actual scan.
